Teaching approach
Students are encouraged to pursue their own area of musical interest or academic need, whether it be performance, preparation for AMEB or VCE examinations, or purely music for pleasure.
Lessons are usually held on a weekly basis at the Curtain Street studio in Carlton North using a Yamaha grand piano. View teaching hours.
Music theory
The piano tuition program includes basic music theory, aural skills and music history.
More advanced theory tuition is available, catering to the individual student’s needs.
VCE
Stephen has extensive experience tutoring VCE students towards achieving their goals and preparing for University entrance exams.
The VCE years can be very demanding and many students benefit from the additional support of a private tutor for all components of the curriculum: performance, music analysis, aural training.
